Should I authenticate a watch before selling it?

Guys, I need help. I have a Swiss watch that was given to me about seven years ago. I'm thinking about selling it because I rarely wear it and it's just sitting in the box. But here's the problem: I'm not sure I still have all the paperwork. I have the box, but I think I lost the receipt. I've seen ads online that say "with a certificate of authenticity," and the price is higher. My question is: is it really possible to authenticate a watch without the original receipt? And how important is this if I want the buyer to trust me?

If you're going to sell a watch, confirming its authenticity is the most important selling point. Even if you don't have the receipt, you can still have it officially verified. That's exactly what the Watch Authenticity Certification service is for. They conduct a detailed inspection: they check the movement, serial numbers, brand features, and compare them to the manufacturer's specifications. They even evaluate the box and accessories. Ultimately, you receive an official certificate of authenticity. This document will serve as a guarantee for the buyer and will allow the watch to be listed at a fair price. People don't like to take risks, especially with expensive models, so such a certificate greatly enhances trust.
